NOTICE

January 4, 2012

In preparation for this year’s Annual General Meeting, the Executive of the Osgoode Village Residents' Association has made a thorough review of the past year.

The Executive has concluded:

  1. That the City of Ottawa consultation process is mainly for appearance and that valid points raised by residents are most often ignored.
  2. That it is impossible to get support from either city staff or City Council unless the Councillor is supportive.
  3. Councillor Doug Thompson has actively and publicly opposed and discounted the validity of the Osgoode Residents' Association, its members and their work.
  4. The Osgoode Village Community Association, despite some very good work for the community, willingly and without consultation adopts positions that have the potential to negatively affect the quality of life in our village.

Given the impossibility to be effective under these conditions, the Executive Committee of the Osgoode Village Residents' Association will be continuing operations in a different format.

We would like to thank all who have participated and supported us, and wish for our dear village a better fate than present circumstances allow.

We will soon be removing this website from the internet.
